Our Lead Counsel was a facilitator at the recently concluded Government Contract Dispute Resolution Workshop which held on 07 – 08 May, 2019. The Workshop was organized by the Dispute Resolution Centre – Abuja Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DRC-ACCI). A cross-section of government lawyers, contractors, and representatives of regulatory agencies attended the landmark event.
Ewuwuni’s spoke on the “Effective Use of Dispute Boards in Construction Projects“. Her recommendation for the adoption of Dispute Boards (DBs) for the resolution of construction disputes involving the government was underlined by the method’s potential for dispute avoidance and further underscored by the World Bank’s recent Agreement with FIDIC to use FIDIC Standard Forms of Contract for all construction projects to be funded by the Bank. The Agreement is to last for five (5) years.
